Year 6 2022

On Wednesday we had a visit from Spellbinder and, had a lot of fun listening to stories and dancing to songs.

We had a great time on Friday. We had Goldilocks porridge for breakfast, decorated gingerbread men, tested bridges for the Billy Goats Gruff and write about what we'd like to find at the top of the beanstalk. Our costumes were fabulous too. 

Last Friday all Reception and Year One dressed up as different characters from traditional tales. We had a great day, decorating gingerbread men, designing bridges and imaging what would be at the top of the beanstalk. Then finishing the day off with a fun party and fancy dress…

This week we have been learning about old toys. We have written questions and then interviewed Nana Roberts about the toys she played with when she was little. We found out lots of interesting information.

This morning we read Little Red Riding Hood. We then practised our questioning skills, writing questions for the wolf. We also made story maps and created puppet shows. On the 9th January 1AE were lucky enough to have a basketball session with Mr. Basketball. We all learnt a lot about basketball skills and had a great time.

This term we are looking at ball skills, such as throwing and catching.

This week we are writing questions for the big, bad wolf. We have become the police and are interviewing him after his adventure with the three little pigs. 

We have had a sporty start to the week. We started on Monday with a taster session with Mr Basketball, we learnt lots of new skills and even got to shoot some hoops.

On Tuesday we continued with our throwing and catching skills but this time with tennis balls, some of us found this a lot…

This afternoon we have taken part in the 'paper chain challenge'. We only had one piece of paper and hadn't to make the longest chain we could. We used lots of different ideas to try and make ours the longest. 

We had a very busy week last week, we performed our Christmas aalphabet for the school and our mums and dads. We also had our Christmas party with DJ Kellett 

We have been so busy this week. Yesterday we continued to learn new gymnastics skills, including a forward roll. We also used the computers to generate our calendars. Miss Morris was very proud of us for our teamwork too.
